What is a remanufactured/ rebuilt golf cart?
At Custom Carts, we are experts at producing reconditioned golf carts. Reconditioned golf carts are carts that were used solely on a golf course which are then sold to golf cart dealers. We then convert these golf carts to "reconditioned" golf carts. They are stripped down to the golf cart frame and then rebuilt with new parts resulting in a "like new" golf cart at a lower price point.
These differ from purely used golf carts. Used golf carts are sold "as is" and do not include new parts, new batteries, and are not like new. There are no upgrades, no modifications, and usually little maintenance performed on the cart prior to being sold. With a used cart, you take the risk that your cart has underlying issues due to its' age and lack of maintenance.
When purchasing a reconditioned golf cart from Custom Carts, you are purchasing a "like new" golf cart. We strip the cart to its' frame and then replace the remaining parts of the golf cart. They have new lithium batteries, wheels/tires, seats, bodies, etc. As a Club Car dealer, we are able to use the Club Car aluminum frame for all of our reconditioned golf carts.
OUR REMANUFACTURING PROCESS
step 1: strip down the cart to the frame
These golf carts are stripped to the base aluminum frame. All existing parts, including batteries, are removed.
Then the golf cart is inspected for any issues that may affect the operation and performance of the cart.
Then, the cart is cleaned and prepared for the new parts.
step 2: rebuild the cart
At this point, all new parts and components are added to the golf cart. This includes:
Batteries (Lithium or Lead Acid)
Wiring
Body
Windshield
Canopy
Seats
Lights
Lift Kit (for lifted carts)
Wheels & Tires
Any Additional Accessories
step 3: deliver to the customer
Once the golf cart is completed, inspected, test -driven and detailed, the golf cart is delivered to the customer.
WHY BUY RECONDITIONED VS. A NEW SIMILARLY PRICED GOLF CART
This is a question we hear frequently hear from customers. First, our reconditioned golf carts are built on a Club Car aluminum frame. This means they can withstand the salty/beach Florida environment and they are the most durable and long-lasting. Secondly, they are easily repairable. If you purchase a golf cart that is primarily made in China, you take the risk of not having parts for that golf cart when it needs service or repair. Third, reconditioned golf carts are highly customizable. At Custom Carts, we can make your golf cart any color, add custom seats, wheels and tires of your choice along with additional accessories. And finally, you get a "like new" golf cart built on a Club Car aluminum frame at a lower price point. We always recommend a new golf cart but if that is not in your price range, a reconditioned golf cart is the way to go.
